Bringing in the Bystander
SAPEC is now offering a prevention workshop for establishing a community of responsibility.
KU students have an important role to play in the prevention and intervention of sexual violence.
Bringing in the Bystander® (BITB) is a bystander education and training program developed for college students. The program is available in standard (90 minutes) and extended (four hours) format interactive sessions. The program provides participants with the skills to help them act when they see behavior that puts others at risk for violence, victimization, or perpetration. These include speaking out against rape myths and sexist language, supporting victim/survivors, and intervening in potentially violent situations.
Trainings are available to all undergraduate and graduate students at no charge. Please sign up for one of our open session at the links below. Please note, open session trainings are open to enrolled students at the University of Kansas only. Participants are required to arrive on time and stay for the entire training. If you arrive after the group agreements have been established, you may be asked to leave and sign up for a different training. If you have questions or need to cancel your registration, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
