About the Prevention is Possible Seminars

KU students can in enroll in one of two academic seminars on the topic of campus sexual violence prevention. These courses use research-based strategies to equip students with the knowledge to recognize and respond to sexual violence & disrespect and to build a culture of consent at KU and beyond. They are part of our community’s commitment to keep campus safer for all, and to cultivate Jayhawk leaders who will change the world for the better. Read on to decide which seminar is right for you!

SW 301

1 Credit Hour
Prevention is Possible: Taking Action Against Campus Sexual Violence (SW 301) is an 8-week, 300-level course about gender-based violence prevention that is open to all KU students, regardless of major. The course is offered through a collaboration between SAPEC and the KU School of Social Welfare.

SW 365

3 Credit hours
This 16-week course provides a deeper dive into sexual assault prevention, including exploring applications on campus and in the community.
